Bizview v25.4 Enhancements
This topic describes the significant enhancements in Bizview v25.4.
Caution: Starting with Bizview v24.1, feature enhancements are no longer available to on-premise users.
Platform Roles Alignment - BV01 Viewer Role
Bizview v25.4 introduces the BV01 Viewer role, a new standard role providing read-only access across the platform. This role addresses the need for controlled data consumption, allowing users to view insights and participate in assigned workflows without modifying system designs or updating data values.
Key Capabilities:
Users with the BV01 role can:
- View dashboards with filter and refresh capabilities
- Access analytics with full visualization and bookmark features
- View reports including Group report sub-templates
- View Input Forms with current values
- View Input Gridforms with current values
- Participate in Workflows as doers or responsible parties
- Manage Comments
- Start and view Jobs
- Access Help resources, Notifications, and User Settings
System Administrators can assign the BV01 role through standard user management interfaces. The role appears in all access grids throughout the system, including Grant Access sections for Roles, Users, Reports, Forms, Dashboards, Analytic Reports, Jobs, and Drilldowns. The role integrates seamlessly with existing access control mechanisms, appearing in the System Users and Roles grids alongside other standard roles.
Dashboard Menu Access
BV01 users can access the Dashboard menu to view assigned dashboards from the Home Page. Users can interact with dashboard filters and refresh data to view the latest insights. The Design Mode button remains hidden, preventing layout modifications while maintaining full visualization capabilities in read-only mode.
Analytics Menu Access
The Analytics menu provides BV01 users with full read access to assigned analytic reports. Users can open reports, view all charts and visualizations, apply filters and parameters, and create bookmark saves for frequently accessed views. The Design Mode button is hidden to prevent structural changes. Export and sharing functionality remain available when enabled.
Workflow Menu Access
BV01 users can participate actively in workflows where they are assigned as doers or responsible parties. The Workflow menu displays only workflows where users have assigned roles. Users can open workflow steps, enter values in forms and gridforms, change step status, add comments, upload attachments, and approve or reject steps when marked as responsible. Workflow history and comments remain accessible for full process transparency. The Design Mode option is unavailable, and parent steps appear in disabled mode if users are assigned only to child steps.
Input Forms Menu Access
The Input menu allows BV01 users to view forms where they have been granted access. Users can open input forms and view current values. The Save Values, Update Values, and Lock Input buttons are hidden to prevent data modification. The Spreadkey right panel remains visible through right-click menus, allowing users to understand data structure without the ability to change Spreadkey assignments.
Reports Menu Access
Users can access the Reports menu to view assigned reports in read-only mode. The Design Mode button remains hidden across all report types. For Group reports, users can access sub-templates where they have permission. The comment side panel displays comments added by the user, along with comment categories and blocks where they have access, supporting collaboration while maintaining appropriate access boundaries.
Input Gridforms Menu Access
BV01 users can view Gridforms assigned to them in the left flyout menu. Users can open Gridforms where they have access and review current values and data structure. The Save, Add, Quick Update, Edit Mode, and Delete buttons in Gridforms are disabled or hidden, ensuring users can view information without the ability to modify values or gridform configurations.
Comments Menu Access
BV01 users who have added general comments can access the Comments menu to view their contributions in one central location. The left flyout menu displays all comments added by the user. Users can add new comments to categories and blocks where they have been granted permission, supporting collaboration within defined boundaries.
Help, Menu Access
The Help menu provides access to user documentation in Legacy or opens the Resource Center in Platform.
Notifications, Menu Access
The Notifications menu displays personal notifications when enabled for the user.
User Settings Menu Access
The User profile menu includes User Settings, About, Innovation Portal, Change Client, and Logout options. Platform BV01 users can access the AI Assist On/Off toggle in their user settings, providing control over AI Assistant features.
Jobs Menu Access
The Jobs menu appears for BV01 users only when they have access to at least one specific job. The Design and Schedule buttons are hidden, restricting the role to operational tasks. Users can start jobs where they have permission and view them in the left flyout menu. Job logs remain accessible, providing visibility into job execution history and results without allowing configuration changes.
System Administration
System Administrators assign the BV01 role during user creation or to existing users through the System Users interface. When creating new users, administrators can select the BV01 role from the Role Member options during the setup process. All assignments integrate with existing access control mechanisms and save to appropriate system tables for consistent access control.
Mapping Platform License to Assigned Roles
The license mapping configuration has been updated to align roles with their intended capabilities:
| License Type | Assigned Roles |
|---|---|
Viewer |
BV01 |
Power User |
BV01, BV10 |
Admin |
BV01, BV10, BV20, BV30 |
Platform Roles Alignment - BV20 Power User License Capability Extension
Bizview v25.4 enables System Administrators to extend Platform Power Users with BV20 role permissions, providing Client Admin and Workflow Designer capabilities. This enhancement addresses the need for flexible role assignment, allowing organizations to selectively elevate Power Users without requiring full system administrator access.
The enhancement recognizes that some Power Users need more than standard budget contribution capabilities. These users may need to manage client-level settings, design workflows, or perform other administrative tasks while maintaining their primary focus on data input and planning activities.
How it works:
A new table app.poweruser_extend_bv20 stores user IDs eligible for BV20 assignment.
Administrators can insert user IDs into this table using a Gridform.
The system validates that users hold a Power User license before granting BV20.
Validation occurs during user synchronization and login.
